In memory of Norm "Sluggo" Gardner
Norm was a pioneer in the development for the magnet cars we race today. He was willing to share his knowledge and help anyone who would take the time to learn. Norm was one of the Founding Fathers of HOPRA and was a long-term supporter of the HOPRA National Organization. He was the owner of two different H.O. slot car shops throughout the years. Many were introduced to the sport because of Norm. He would have fun at races and still out-drive most from the gutter lanes. There was not a gutter lane on Norm didn't like. Norm made racing fun and always had a great story to tell. He was an accomplished racer winning the HOPRA Nationals a couple times and winning 100's of races across the United States since the 1970's. He will go down in history as a legend to this great sport. We will miss him dearly. Sympathies go out to Norms' friends and family.
